How much a two-week trip to the Seychelles actually cost?

The Seychelles has long been on my bucket list, and after finally crossing it off, I wanted to share exactly how much a two-week adventure in this tropical paradise actually costs. From stunning beaches to breathtaking views, I made sure to experience everything the islands have to offer while being mindful of my budget. Below is a breakdown of all my expenses during the trip, which might help you plan your own trip to this dreamy destination.

Flights: 795,83€

Flights were the biggest chunk of my budget, totaling 795,83€. I flew from Europe to the Seychelles with one stopover, which I thought was a reasonable price given the distance and demand for flights to such a remote location.

Accommodation: 1.719,44€

The Seychelles is known for its luxurious resorts, but I opted for a mix of more affordable stays. Here’s a breakdown of my accommodation costs:

• Mahe (1 night): 103,79€

• Praslin (5 nights): 605,65€

• La Digue (3 nights): 510€

• Mahe (5 nights): 500€

Since I traveled with a friend, this cost was split between us, so our total cost per person for accommodation came to around 859,72€. Accommodation on the islands varies greatly depending on location and type, but overall, I found that staying in guesthouses or mid-range hotels provided the perfect balance of comfort and price.

Food:

Luckily, many of the places I stayed included breakfast, so I didn’t have to spend much in the morning. For dinner, I typically spent between 55-100 SCR (about 3-5€) per meal, depending on where I dined. The food in the Seychelles is fresh and delicious, with a variety of seafood dishes and Creole-inspired cuisine that I highly recommend.

Transport: 1.285€

Getting around the islands was one of my priorities, and I ended up renting cars to explore. Here’s the breakdown:

• Car Rental Praslin (5 days): 245€

• Car Rental Mahe (5 days): 250€

In addition to the car rentals, I also took the ferries between the islands:

• Mahe to Praslin: 62€ p.P.

• Praslin to La Digue: 16€ p.P.

• La Digue to Mahe: 74€ p.P.

Getting around by ferry is relatively inexpensive, and I loved the scenic views during the boat rides. On La Digue, I rented a bike for a few days, which cost 100SCR (7€) per day. Those costs were also split in two. Our total transport cost per person was 641,50€. Renting a car on both Praslin and Mahe was an essential part of my itinerary, giving us the freedom to explore at our own pace.

SIm:

Staying connected was easy with an e-sim for 21€, which gave me 3GB of data to use during my trip. This was more than enough for light browsing, social media, and navigation around the islands.

Visa: 10€

The Seychelles offers visa-free entry for most visitors, but I did have to pay a small visa fee of 10€ to enter the country. This was a straightforward process upon arrival.

Things to Do: 396€

One of the highlights of my trip was all the amazing activities I was able to do. Here’s the breakdown of what I spent on excursions:

• Curieuse Island Tour: 50€ p.P.

• Parking at Anse Lazio: 100 SCR

• Entry to Anse Source d’Argent: 150 SCR p.P.

• Crystal Kayaks (1.5 hours): 25€ p.P.

The Curieuse Island Tour was a definite highlight, offering a chance to spot giant tortoises and enjoy an idyllic beach. I also highly recommend the crystal kayaking experience, which was a unique way to explore the turquoise waters.

Our main activity during our two week stay was exploring all the beaches around the 3 islands we visited. This is also great for your budget, because all the beaches in the Seychelles are free and open to the public.

However, with careful planning, it’s possible to enjoy a memorable trip while keeping costs manageable.
